The 42nd ABPI International Congress features Stafford Masie as the main keynote speaker. An angel investor in technology, Masie was responsible for establishing Google’s presence in South Africa (2006), leading the launch of the African versions of Google Search, Adwords, Google Maps and Streetview, as well as the local version of YouTube – in In other words, Google’s ecosystem and business strategy in Southern Africa.

After leaving Google in 2010, Masie founded several fintechs and has since established several tech startups that have expanded globally. Stafford Masie is known for the development of ‘Payment Pebble®’ and ‘Payment Blade®’, launched via ABSA in South Africa and ANZ Bank in Australia and New Zealand, and which are currently being rolled out across the Asia-Pacific region. .

Today, Masie is an investor and mentor in early stage tech startups and for the past 7 years, his focus has been on the Bitcoin blockchain network and all aspects of cryptocurrencies. Many of his recent talks involve deciphering this world for the public and inspiring companies with these new tectonic technological shifts.
